History and location:
Liberec has been a Czech Republic city since 1993. It is located by the Jizerské Mountains and features the Babylon Centre, a huge shopping and entertainment complex.
Liberec used to be called the 'Manchester of Bohemia' because of its thriving textile industry.
Points of interest:
Liberec has many points of interests including historical sites and museums. The town hall is a beautiful example of 19th century architecture as well as the Opera House which main curtain was designed by Gustav Klimt. Visitors should also have a look at the North Bohemian Museum, other 19th century building and stroll on the hill above the city centre which offers views over romantic style houses and streets.
